Xander Steyn has been drawing and painting from a young age. When he was 15 he started to sell some of his pastel drawings at his school and local flea markets.
His only formal training was from the watercolour guru Therese Grunow in Virgnia when he was 16. After that he was part of the South African Watercolour Society for a year.
After school he decided to study Architecture at the UFS. After returning to Bloemfontein in 2014 he started to pick up the brush, pencil and pen again.
Since then he has done mostly commissions for for clients and friends and is now teaching art at his #xanderart Studio in Bloemfontein.
Xander’s art varies from portraits to landscapes and the mediums he uses ranges from pen to acrylic to
watercolours. His work can always be destinguished by the use of dark and bright colours.
